Here it is almost the end of January and I haven’t put up a single post in quite some time. Sorry readers!

It’s not that I haven’t thought about the blog. or different things I want to implement this coming year. Like many people, I have trouble organizing my time to get everything accomplished that I want to get accomplished. I have ordered a new planner that should be here within the week. I can’t wait to get it and share it with you. What planner do you use? Do you use digital or paper or both?

It is during this time of the year that I do most of my “spring cleaning.” I take those snow and cold days when I’m off from my teaching job and can’t get outside to clean out cabinets, closets, etc. So far I have managed to clean out the storage closet in the hallway and have almost completed deep cleaning the kitchen. With little ones running around all the time it is hard to devote one whole day or more to just one room.

I also enjoy using these days to cook more. Just last night I made a mandarin orange cake with pineapple whipped cream frosting. It was a big hit with everyone.

You can find the recipe by clicking here.

Starting on Wednesday, February 7(Next week folks!) I am starting a series called Wordless Wednesday. I will be posting pictures of some of the activities that have taken place in my world. I hope you will share some of your life in pictures with me and other readers.

What have you been working on in your crafting life? For Christmas I made several gifts and have more things planned and in progress.

Currently I am working on necklaces like I made for Christmas and a burlap sunflower wreath for my daughter. However, I have more projects planned. Two of my grandsons have birthdays in February. For the younger one, I am going to make a diaper bag to match the Mickey Mouse blanket I made him for Christmas. I didn’t get these items made when he was born, so his mother stills wants him to have a set like two older one do.

I have the rose one that matches my pink crafting room.

How many of you own a Cricut? My husband bought me one for Christmas and I am attempting to learn how to use it. My first project is to make an iron-on for some pillow shams for my bed. After a lot of failed attempts, I think I finally got this first one ready to cut out. Hopefully, I will get that done before long and have a picture to go along with it.

One piece of advice: If you are planning on purchasing a Cricut, get the bundle so you will have the  tools you need to go complete various projects. Click here if you are planning on purchasing one. Need I say more.

My daughter and I are planning to participate in our first vendor’s show in April. We thought holding off until then would give it plenty of time to get enough items made before the event. She is doing much better than I am getting things ready.

As far as the blog goes, I recently completed the Affiliate Marketing Course. It has given me several ideas on how to better monetize the blog. Time will tell how well I learned the lessons.

I have also been invited to join the local Writer’s Guild. I haven’t been to the first meeting yet, but I’m really excited to get started. More on that when I actually get started.

I am currently working on some goals to incorporate into my blog during this next year. I am taking a note from Natalie Bacon’s series of 2017 posts entitled “A Final Note”. (At the end of each month she posted her progress in several different categories of her life which included, but was not limited to, her blog. As I update my “101 Things to Accomplish in 1001 Days (inspired by SimplyNicole) , I plan on using categories like she did. Sadly, she finished this series and is no longer writing these posts. I really liked reading these.

I will be posting shortly my new goals. Don’t miss it. What are your top goals for 2018?

My life verse.

Hello, My name is Linda; I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. Currently, my full time day job is an Intervention Specialist. That is the official title for a special education teacher. My teaching assignments for the past couple of years have been Social Studies, Language Arts, and Art & Music. After the school day has ended I again become a wife and mother. My husband and I have four children, 3 girls and 1 boy. They have blessed us with 12 beautiful grandchildren with number 13 coming any day . We also have 3 great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter coming in June. As you can tell, we love large families. I enjoy sewing, crafting, and photography. You can see my work on my facebook page, Perilin Creations & Photography. Just recently I have started a Twitter and Instagram account. They are not fully being utilized yet but I hope to remedy that in the immediate future. As this blog progresses, I plan on infusing it with inspiration and spiritual encouragement. Just today I ordered the book, Femine Appeal: Seven Virtures of a Godly Wife and Mother by Carolyn Mahaney. It was one of the books listed under 12 Books to Read This Year by Young Homemaker.
