I have been constantly studying about blogging for a few months now. Believe me, this is more complicated then it seems. I am still trying to figure out how to ad Google Adsense, find sponsors, and overall monetize my blog. On top of that I want to publish blogs that are helpful and relevant to your lives. So I have jumped in to sink or swim.
I have always enjoyed writing although the last several years it has taken a back seat to my full time job as a special education teacher, wife, mother, and grandmother. Even though we are now grandparents and great-grandparents, we still have little ones in the house. We are currently helping our daughter raise her 3 young children. This leads to a very full and busy life.
However, my impending retirement is approaching and I wanted to blog in order to fulfill my desire to write and still utilize my teaching skills. After seeing some interviews with various bloggers, the idea stuck in my head until I finally began researching this avenue. It is still very intriguing and daunting.
I began by reading several blogs. One of the first posts that I really liked was the 101 Things to Complete in 1001 Days by Simply Nicole. This was a good starting point for me. I made my list and thought I could write about each thing I accomplished. This has proven to be more difficult than I expected. These blogs take a lot more time than I had planned for. But I am not a quitter. I will succeed at this.
Recently, I have come across a few 30 day blog challenges. (Check out my Pinterest board, Blogging.) I have decided to attempt one. Please pray for me. So here we go.
